CASE History helps Pro Tec Build a Bright Future

“CASE always delivers good quality, near-new hire equipment, so we’ve never had any problems with the many CASE machines we’ve hired,” Sam concluded. “We also get CASE out to service the machines; they have their service vehicles and always attend promptly and do the job well so we can get on with the job at hand.”

Sam Gaffney – Pro Tec Plumbing

Melbourne-based Pro Tec Plumbing has been in operation since early 2009, but they’ve quickly gained a well-earned reputation for their expertise and quality work – work which is supported day-in and day-out on every project by CASE equipment.

Specialising in delivering on high quality commercial construction projects, Pro Tec initially serviced the metropolitan Melbourne area and Mornington Peninsula but have rapidly grown to the point where they now work Australia-wide for major companies including Shell, McDonalds, Aldi, Coles, Masters Home Improvement and 7-Eleven.

Already a very satisfied rental customer of CASE Vic, Pro Tec Plumbing’s Owner/Director Sam Gaffney knew exactly what he wanted when he decided to purchase his first piece of plant in May 2013; a CASE CX55BX Compact Excavator.

QUALITY

Exemplifying the superior power, productivity, fast cycle times and small footprint typical of all CASE Compact Excavators, the CX55BX features a zero tail swing design and independent centre swing boom for superior operation in tight spaces, responsive performance and exceptional stability, outstanding fuel efficiency and a comfortable high visibility cab that increases productivity and safety on site.

“We bought the CX55BX for the quality, because CASE has a great history with their machines, and it’s awesome – a great machine,” Sam said. “We mainly do in ground drain and trench work on commercial construction projects, so we do a lot of things with the CX55BX and use it solidly eight hours a day and we’ve had no problems at all.”

“It’s got a longer arm, great power and it’s great on fuel, plus it’s a smaller machine so we can get into tighter spots where there’s limited access and space,” Sam explained. “It has all the functions and it’s easy to see why it’s one of CASE’s top sellers.

TOMAHAWK – CASE CUSTOMER CENTRE

Sam’s admiration of CASE equipment and its history of quality – and his desire to own more CASE machines – only increased after he attended a convention at the company’s Tomahawk Customer Centre in America in early 2014 with Danny Oldham from CASE Vic.

A 200ha facility set in Wisconsin woodlands, the Tomahawk Customer Centre has been serving CASE customers for over 60 years and offers state-of-the-art training with experts on hand to provide a thorough understanding of CASE innovations and technology and deliver dynamic hands-on product demonstrations of the full line of CASE construction equipment

“There were 24 of us from Australia and we got to drive 60 machines; every one that CASE makes,” Sam explained. “I fell in love with the SR200 Skid Steer Loader, so now we’ve purchased one.”

SR200, THE ALL-ROUNDER SKID STEER LOADER

In terms of the quality, here’s the bottom line: it’s cleaner, stronger, more efficient, and cheaper to run then it’s predecessors. CASE is proud that the CX300C’s are the first heavy excavators in the Australian market to be launched with Tier 4 Interim compliant, low emission engines, which mixes pin-point efficiency with reduced environmental impact, something close to the heart of every Australian.

The Case Product Manager, Scott O’Hare explained how it uses an ‘Intelligent Hydrolic System’:

“It ensures that the hydraulic flow and engine load is perfectly matched to the task at hand, which means that any operator can get maximum results with minimum fuel use… We have already seen strong interest in the market for these new Tier 4 Interim compliant heavy excavators, and anticipate a very positive response from customers who want to reduce their fuel bill, and from customers who want to minimise their impact on the environment while still maintaining full productivity.”

CASE VIC SUPPORT

A firm fan of CASE equipment, Sam Gaffney is also extremely pleased with the support and service he receives from CASE Vic.

“I’ve been dealing with CASE Vic, and Danny Oldham in particular, for a few years now and as soon as I call him for a machine, he’s on to it and I’ve got it in about two hours,” Sam explained. “We hire a lot of the bigger machines and if I want a 35 tonne excavator at a site, he’ll get it there for me.
